BRIDGEND FOOTBALL ACADEMY
The Bridgend football Academy in partnership
with Bridgend County Borough Council, FAW Trust, Bridgend Junior League
and Cardiff City F.C, would like to give clubs the opportunity to catch
up on results and the progress of individual players within the system.
Please remember the Academy structure is in place to represent your
club, players and coaches in providing them with an opportunity to play
at the highest possible level.
Through out the 2004-05 season, the then
called Bridgend Centre of Development, has undergone a number of changes
to meet the high standards set out by U.E.FA, to achieve Academy status.
This very prestigious title meant the Centre of Development underwent 2
very thorough audits by the F.A.W, both on the administration and
Technical side. As a result of all the hard work by everybody involved,
the Development Centre has been awarded Academy status. The use of the
word Academy is an acknowledgement that our development programme is of
a high standard.
We have since undergone a further 2 audits,
with the Academy each time receiving very positive feedback and
regaining their Academy status. All clubs, players and coaches should be
proud of this achievement and I hope you continue to support us.
Goalkeepers receive training from the Pat
Mountain G.K1 Goalkeeping School. Pat is a U.E.F.A “A” Licence
goalkeeper coach and is currently Division 1 Cheltenham F.C first team
goalkeeping coach. Please see read further ahead for information.
Managers/ Coaches The Scouts Of The
Academy!
I hope you as a Club take advantage of this
opportunity for your players to receive professional coaching, from our
team of highly qualified coaches. Further more work within a technical
programme outlined by U.E.F.A, compete in academy-coached games, and
allow your players the opportunity to be selected for the Bridgend
Schools Squads. Please note scouts of League clubs and international
selectors continually monitor Academy and schools games.
It has been agreed with the Bridgend Junior
League that coaches/managers of clubs can add to their team sheet or
score sheet a man of the match for the opposition team. When a
player has been identified by several coaches/managers he will be
invited to the Football Academy for a trial.
There will also be an Academy Junior
League Player Of the season, similar to the P.F.A Award by the
Premier League. The player voted for the most by the junior league
manager/coach throughout the season would win this award.
May I take this opportunity to thank you for
your support and wish you all the best for the following season.
Regards
Jason Perry
